Good afternoon.//
In correspondence with yesterday’s later Status Report, I’m going to give a link for finding fonts that fit with your name once you’ve found it. Dafont.com is an excellent resource for design fonts, and has a testable database of fonts. If you don’t know how to isntall fonts, here are some links:
http://www.myfonts.com/support/help_install_mac.html (Mac)http://www.myfonts.com/support/help_install_win.html (PC).
If you want to make your own fonts, here’s another link: http://www.andrew.cmu.edu/user/twm/makefont/; a guide on how to make fonts (as you could have guessed. I’m not trying to insult your intelligence).//
Now, speaking of logos, what should it look like? I can’t really tell you what your logo should look like, because it relies on your name, the type of personality you want your company to have, and how much time and resources you have to create it. All I can say is that you should relate it to the your name in some way, try to keep it simple, and be creative.//

Good morning, everyone. Today’s MPi3 is Assassin by Muse. Nice song to get your revolutionary juices flowing.//
Speaking of Muse, they’re due for a new album on September 14th! It’s called The Resistance. How exciting. I’m excited.//
In other news, a great movie to watch is the Science of Sleep.
And plus the trailer has Fear of Sleep by The Strokes! :D It’s by the same guy who made Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.//
I think I’m going to do a picture of the day, too. Maybe steal one off of 4chan.org. No! I have it! I’ll post random advertisements up. Yeah, that’s the ticket.

So okay, here’s what I’ve got so far://
My company’s name is Sun Milk. Naming my company was a very difficult thing to do. Some people might be wondering how to come up with the name for their company, and lemme’ tell ya’, it’s not easy. You should probably give up, because just about EVERY name you can THINK OF is taken by some company or other. It gets to the point where you have to think of totally abstract and arbitrary names, and hope that Google’s never heard of them before. I think my narrowed (greatly) list was comprised of names like: Little Girl Inc. and Orange Cloud. LongggSpider was another one, I believe. But I do have a few tips for creating names.//
- Make it short
Don’t come up with a name that’s ridiculously long. One or two words is usually good.//
Unconventional
Look for words that wouldn’t usually be put together, like Octopus Garden or Cheddar Salsa; makes for a name that won’t show up in a Google search as already taken, and one that will pop out to readers. You want to get the, “oh, that’s cool! I wish I could be that creative!” reaction. Plus, your name is the first thing that a person sees about your company. Having a creative name can make people more likely to pick your web design services. HOWEVER. You always want to remember to stay professional. Don’t get crazy and name your business Marijuana Dollop Design or something. Try to get something crisp, as well as creative.//
Think visually
Always think in terms of your logo, and the design of your website. Try to make your name as easy to illustrate, and as theme-oriented as possible. Try using objects and colors in your name, as they are the easiest to base a logo off of.//
Make it “ring”
Try to pair words that sound nice together and are aesthetically pleasing. Pick words that embody feelings or sounds, also; powerful words or incredibly subtle words. Make the words work for you.//
These are the things that I kept in mind while creating my name, and I think that I did a pretty good job.//

In the Punching In–> parts of my blog, I’m might give some tips on CSS or HTML, or some nifty things that I’ve learned, or maybe even a song of the day. Yeah… I like that. Song of the day. Today’s song of the day is Going Nowhere by Cut Copy, only, the Digitalism remix.//linkplz: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IHekGADYEEs
